Chansee is an anonymous missed connections app for Europe. Post a note about a moment with a stranger — the tram, the cafe, the street — and the other person might recognise it.
You crossed paths with someone — maybe you exchanged a glance on the 22 tram, sat next to them in a cafe, queued behind them at the bakery — and you didn't get a chance to talk. A missed connections app lets you post a short, anonymous note describing the moment. If the other person uses the app and recognises themselves, they reach out. Chansee is a modern missed connections app built around three things: a city-scoped Wall of notes, Bluetooth encounter detection so you can see whose paths you crossed today, and an anonymous chat that only reveals identities once both sides agree.
Open Chansee, write a few sentences about the person and the moment — time, place, a detail or two. The post lands on your city's Wall, visible to everyone in the same city. The author stays anonymous: no name, no photo, no profile next to the post. If you see yourself in a description, tap "It's me" and an anonymous chat opens between you and the author. Inside the chat, both sides appear as Anonymous Passerby. After enough exchanges, either side can request a mutual reveal — both have to agree before the profile photos show up.
The Encounters tab quietly logs other Chansee phones that were near you in the last 24 hours, over Bluetooth Low Energy. You don't see who they are — only that you crossed paths. If both of you wave 👋, an anonymous chat opens. The handshake never leaves the device pair; Chansee servers never learn the identity of the people nearby.
Most dating-style apps push you to a profile-first interaction — photos and bios before a single shared moment. Missed connections invert that: a real shared moment is the entry point, and identities only matter once both sides have decided to meet again. Chansee is built for the people who would never swipe but would absolutely look up to see whether the girl reading Murakami on the 22 tram thought of them too.
